Depression & Anxiety Consumer Research Unit
The Depression & Anxiety Consumer Research Unit (CRU) serves as a bridge between consumers and researchers, and undertakes a high quality program of research focused
on the priorities and needs of mental health consumers in the community.
CRU was established by the Centre for Mental Health Research in 2003 as part of its focus on research from the perspective of those who
suffer from common mental disorders.
CRU is staffed by academic researchers and students who are also consumers (that is, have personal experience with depressive or anxiety disorders). The current and founding Director of CRU is Associate Professor Kathy Grifffiths.

of information about depression compiled by the Centre. It provides
information about the symptoms of depression and how it is diagnosed,
summarises which medical, psychological and alternative treatments work
for depression (and which don’t) and contains an extensive list of people,
organisations, books, websites, and other resources that may be helpful
to people who are depressed.
BrolgaNet site launched!
The BrolgaNet website: www.brolganet.anu.edu.au was launched in June 2004 at the conclusion of the "Promoting Consumer Participation in Mental Health Research" workshop.
The site was launched to facilitate an online network of people interested in
promoting consumer participation in mental health research.
If you would like to keep up to date and continue contributing to the
outcomes of the workshop, BrolgaNet the best place to do
it. The workshop report has been posted on there,
and the site's bulletin board, BrolgaBoard, provides a forum for continued discussion between stakeholders.
